Japanese stamp magnet 磁石

I staid over in downtown Osaka on 9/18, 19. I just came back. Japanese holiday, old people day, so there are many people wondering around.
I went hand craft fair at Osaka Bay. They are so many craft vendors, so many visitors.

Here is a little magnet that I made, before I left on 18th.

Here I made an envelope from map of Nara city of Japan.
アドレス窓の位置が反対になってしまった．デザインは気に入ったのにぃ．
I said, I cut the window wrong way. I probably cut from the front without knowing.
両方コラージュとかする時は気を付けないとねぇ．恥;

奈良なのでせんとくんと仏像と平城京の写真をつけてみました．
I put Sento kun and Buddha and Heizyoukyou building photos inside.

Wrapping paper envelope

With the template of envelope I made yesterday, I started making envelope.
Today I use wrapping paper to make envelope. On the back of the paper, I used Japanese paper tearing off and do collages to make more elaborate, even inside the envelope. I could not do well with folding, so I will be careful next time. I learned that when I paste a translucent sheet for the window, I have to paste that before putting some collage, so that the edge of the cut for the window sheet does not show.

The wrapping paper is for a wrapping for Japanese snack box for a gift. So it has Asian feel. Maybe Westerner might also like the wrapping envelope, I hope. ^_^

template handmade envelope

I used some handmade envelope as a template and transfer the open shape on newsprint for the first practice. Then I just fold with the shape and glued at the sides. This is just a practice and I will use more fancy design paper to make a selable envelopes from here. My question is what is the faster way to do editioning.

A postcard collage for mail art that I am sending to Australia. Back of this postcard is Japanese temple photo.

It is just like my hobby now I am putting things together in a small sheet of postcard and send to other mail artists.

Naoshima landscape with mixed media

Here I just did mixed media painting with watercolor and soft pastel. I painted from the photo of Naoshima island of Kagawa Japan.
Painted on watercolor paper, 51 by 41 cm.

I was struggling all summer class, but I received A for it! Not it is paid off, and my teacher said I should do more of this kind of mixed media landscape and I am thinking to continue more.
